about

During the first 6 weeks of quarantine, my producer Larry Hess locked himself in a storage garage in the Hamptons, while I hunkered down in a Palm Beach apartment.
Together via FaceTime, Zoom and Messenger, we lost our minds recording, mixing, remixing and RE-remixing. I set up microphones in the bathtub and played guitar with a violin bow. Drums, bass and lead guitar were recorded in Brooklyn by Lee Diamond Dan Fodera Jeff Newman and Ryan Howe Mozart Street, a month before the world locked downOriginal

Well excuse me while I whine
About this little heart of mine
And what it wants to know

I can't seem to clear my eyes
View this paradise
Like a diamond in the coal

Ive been staring for so long
’til this emptiness is gone
Shattered by the cold

Ok, Im afraid to go
For reasons I won’t show
Or maybe just dont know

Break through these chains
Wounded hearts remain
Trapped inside my mind

Steamrolling over sand
We will understand
In time

Guess Im the product of a child
Who had to let their mind run wild
Dreaming as they go

Creating doors to other worlds
Like good little boys and girls
Trying to break the mold

So tell me are there rocks ahead
If there are we’ll soon be dead
But you know its just for show

Alright Im ok to go
Down this dark and dusty road
To someplace I just dont know

Break through these chains
Wounded thoughts remain
Trapped inside my mind

Steamrolling over sand
We will understand
In time

Extra Chorus
Make these trips around the Sun
Elegant and fun
Trying not to fall

Pave a path that wasn’t there
Life is what you share
That’s all
